What will I learn from this course?
Each prayer we pray, we make a covenant with Allah. We testify that there is no God but He, and that Muhammad ﷺ is His servant and his Messenger. This covenant binds us to the Divine Reality in ways we rarely stop to think about in the busy world we live in. The Covenant is at the core of the Holy Qur’an, and this Ramadan, we can get to know it better, without distractions.
Join us at Ihsan for ‘The Last Covenant’, in which Shaykh Ahmed leads us on a deep dive into covenants in the Qur’an, their meaning, their impact, their history, and how we can deal with our distractions.
Lesson One (17th March): What is a 'Covenant'? This session will cover the various meanings and forms of a covenant by exploring its linguistic nuances as well as its spiritual meanings and implications.
Lesson Two (24th March): What is 'The Covenant'? In session two we will explore what is the specific covenant that is mentioned in the Qur'an and are there more than one?
Lesson Three (31st March): What distracts us from this 'Covenant'? In this third session, Shaykh Ahmed will look at the obstacles in our lives that distract us from fulfilling our role and what we can do to navigate these obstacles and stay focused.
Lesson Four (7th April): In this final session we will take a look at examples in the Quran of fulfilled and broken 'covenants' comparing and contrasting them so students can obtain a clearer understanding.
All lessons will take place live over Zoom from 2-4 pm London Time and will be recorded and available permanently, for anyone who enrols on the course, via the Teachable platform. Click on the Zoom link within each session to join that session.
